We're making our streets better for everyone

Our Greener Streets strategy sets out a bold commitment to improve our residents' quality of life and take action on climate change, by changing how we all travel and use streets in our borough.

The strategy supports:

  • cleaner air
  • safer and quieter streets with less traffic and fewer accidents
  • healthy travel options like walking, cycling or wheeling
  • greener, and more pleasant spaces for our communities to connect and socialise
  • a better place for all who live, work, study and visit

Current opportunities to get involved

Rebuilding a greener Arlen Hill: Low traffic neighbourhoods

This is an example activity for demonstration purposes only. This site is operated by Delib Ltd and submitted responses will be discarded. Neighbourhood traffic is one of the largest contributors to air pollution; it is estimated that approximately 45% of traffic within neighbourhood areas passes without stopping. We want to transform Arlen Hill into a healthier and safer place to live by reducing the amount of through traffic passing through our neighbourhoods. Not only will this help...

This is an example activity for demonstration purposes only. This site is operated by Delib Ltd and submitted responses will be discarded. Conventional petrol and diesel vehicles are recognised as a major source of pollution and contributor to the climate emergency. Electric vehicles provide a low-emission solution to driving in the UK. In order to make electric vehicles a viable and attractive possibility for London residents we need to create a charging infrastructure to support...

Road Safety Strategy

We are inviting the public to take part in this survey so that we can respond better to demands surrounding road safety. We would like to encourage any organisations, businesses or individuals affected by current issues or our proposals highlighted in this consultation to interact and give us their views.

Electric scooter trial

This is an example activity for demonstration purposes only. This site is operated by Delib Ltd and submitted responses will be discarded. On the 16th December 2021, we launched a trial on the use of rental electric scooters (e-scooters) across Arlen Hill. Rental e-scooters could provide an alternative mode of travel that is emission free while being used for commuting, accessing local services and leisure trips. So far, we have deployed 600 e-scooters across Arlen Hill, with proposals...

School Streets

This is an example activity for demonstration purposes only. This site is operated by Delib Ltd and submitted responses will be discarded. The School Streets scheme aims to address the issues that many schools experience in their immediate vicinity, including poor road safety, congestion, double parking and poor air quality caused by the volume of car traffic at drop off and pick up times. The restrictions implemented by the School Streets scheme are designed to make it easier and...
